Tonight, I had quite the adventure here in Casablanca Real People of The
internet
. I was planning to call an Uber to get back home, but here, they don’t have Uber exactly — instead, they have this service called **”In Drive”**
. It works kinda like Uber, but there’s been some tension lately between traditional taxis and the digital platform drivers. I got a call from my driver, and he told me I’d need to move away from the mall to find a ride because of the ongoing dispute
.
So, I decided to just keep walking. I strolled for about 15-20 minutes, and honestly, Morocco is such a beautiful place . As I wandered, I came across this stunning old castle — the former residence of the King, now part of the historic Medina
. The streets here are peaceful, filled with the warmth and kindness of the local people. Moroccans are genuinely welcoming and caring — watching out for each other, especially for foreigners like me
.
Walking around at night is such a peaceful experience — the streets are lit up like fireworks , creating a magical atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It’s amazing how just a 15-minute walk in one direction can lead you to such a rich piece of history and culture. Real People of the Internet
Thanks, Morocco, for reminding me of the beauty in simple moments — walking, exploring, and soaking in your history and warmth. Here’s a picture outside the castle, a little glimpse of tonight’s peaceful walk.
